“The piers were stacked with machinery and cargo. But there were no programs there. The cargo loaders and ships didn’t need programs because they were all automated.”

— The ‘Tron Legacy’ Junior Novel, based on the script by Kitsis & Horowitz. I’ll just leave this here as a possible explanation of why the Grid of ‘Tron Uprising’ is so un-computer-like: because these guys don’t seem to know the first d*** thing about computers. As in zero, nada, zip. I mean how exactly do you think any machinery is automated, honestly? Geeze. :|

I feel like (…) the underlying explanation behind why I’ve never been much interested in figuring out How The Grid Works (…) because, in Legacy, the creators didn’t seem much interested, either (…)

But the potential energy held by those landscapes, that world, is immense, and I admire the fandom so much for working with what they’ve been given.

…I think I am afraid (guess of which one)

I’m reasonably balanced brain-wise… it’s actually really weird. The left side wants to analyze the s*** out of everything and just do all the social science, and the right side wants to write stories and feel feels and be crazy.

:D Same here, the two are developed and quite stubborn. They learnt to live together…even if their disagreements can be very violent.
… Still, one of them makes me afraid on this pic. D:

Indeed. Methinks this drawing has a bit of a bran bias. XD

Seems so, huh?(Me still yearn to get/write fanfiction for Science vs Art. Maybe like…a one-shot in a person’s mind, with androgynous personifications of each brain interacting together—)

“I’ll watch YOU die.”
“I didn’t ask your permission.”

You don’t mess with Tron

What I love about Tron in this episode is that over half of his lines are so badass, it’s mandatory to add “b****” at the end of the sentence.

“I DIDN’T ASK YOUR PERMISSION, B.”
“YOU PULL A STUNT LIKE THAT AGAIN, AND YOU’RE OUT, B.”
“I’LL WAGE THIS REVOLUTION WITHOUT YOU, B.”

Greeting, program, and voices

winzler:

I just set the phrase that starts up the Android voice thing on my phone and it’s “greetings, program”. Man, I’m predictable… but hey, it works, so whenever I do voice commands I’ll go on imagining little neon-clad people executing them with gusto.

I’ve been doing that on my PC for a while, but doesn’t it get awkward when you turn the phone on around other people? My bro and cousins laughed their head off all day because of my computer’s system voice lines. I still have them. But I can’t do it on a mobile phone… *shy*

ARGH! I DON’T READ YAOI-WHY DO YOU MAKE THIS SO CUUUUTE??? ;_;
(OKAY I WANT TO IMAGINE THIS IN A KIND OF err… digitally asexual kind of “crush” context. That’s my liberty and I stick to it-like the blue chocolate icing thing sticks to the giant pink elephants in my livingroom )-

You race down a virtual corridor of servers, hot on the tail of malicious software. You ping a message to your partner, pointing them to a bottleneck in the network which should let you pin down the malware and destroy it before it does any more harm. Doing your job has never been so much fun.

Developed at the Lincoln Laboratory, part of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the approach allows people to patrol their assigned environments as if they were playing a first-person shooter.
